I Tried the RENPHO Smart Jump Rope for 30 Days — Here’s My Honest Review

Updated: Nov 22

Picture of smart skipping rope.

If you want a simple, affordable fitness tool that burns calories fast, tones your midsection, and fits in your gym bag, a smart jump rope sounds almost too good to be true. So I decided to test one properly — the RENPHO Smart Bluetooth Jump Rope — for 30 full days.

This is everything I liked, everything I didn't like, and whether I think it’s worth your money.

Why I Chose the RENPHO Smart Jump Rope

I wanted something:

  • Portable

  • Budget-friendly

  • Effective for fat burning

  • Easy to use during warm-ups and on rest days

  • With actual tracking so I could measure progress

The RENPHO rope claimed to do all of that. It tracks:

  • Total jumps

  • Calories burned

  • Duration

  • Streaks

  • Jump speed

  • Custom modes (free skip, countdown time, countdown jumps)

And it connects to the RENPHO Health app via Bluetooth so you can see your daily progress.

For the price (usually under £20), I didn’t expect much — but I was wrong.

My 30-Day Experience

Week 1 – Getting used to it

The rope length took about five minutes to adjust to my height. The handles are lightweight but feel solid enough to grip without slipping.

My first session was 5 minutes… and I was absolutely gassed. Skipping is no joke.

However, seeing the jump count and calories on the handle’s screen kept me motivated. I started with simple intervals:

  • 30 seconds skipping

  • 30 seconds rest

  • Repeat for 10 minutes

By the end of week 1, I was consistently hitting 600–800 jumps per session.

Week 2 – The cardio glow-up

My coordination improved fast. My heart rate shot up quicker than it does on a treadmill, and the sessions felt more intense but shorter — perfect for busy days.

This week I tried the “Countdown Jumps” mode where you set a number (I set 500) and the rope counts backward. This made every session feel like a game.

My waist felt tighter and my calves were definitely more toned (in a good way — defined, not bulky).

Week 3 – Consistency and data tracking

The app became surprisingly addictive. It shows:

  • Daily jump count

  • Weekly patterns

  • Calories

  • Best streaks

  • Goals

I found myself checking it the same way people check their step tracker.

I also started using the rope as a warm-up before glute day, and it genuinely helped increase my hip mobility and get my blood flowing before heavy lifts.

Week 4 – Results I actually noticed

By the final week, skipping felt natural. My stamina improved massively — I could skip 1,000 jumps without stopping (something impossible for me at the start).

My noticeable results after 30 days:

  • Lower resting heart rate

  • Better cardio fitness

  • Slimmer waist + flatter lower tummy

  • Improved coordination

  • More defined shoulders and calves

  • Faster recovery between sets during gym sessions

And the best part was how little time it took — 10–12 minutes a day.

Pros — What I Loved About It

1. Extremely affordable

For the features it offers, this rope feels under priced.

2. Tracks your progress accurately

Jump count, calories, streaks — it all feels motivating and surprisingly accurate for a £20 tool.

3. Portable and space-friendly

Fits in any drawer or bag. Great for travel or for people without home-gym space.

4. Easy to use for all fitness levels

You do not need to be “good at skipping” to start. Even complete beginners can use it, especially with the cordless ball option (if you have a tight space).

5. Genuinely improves cardio fitness fast

Skipping burns a lot of calories. You feel the difference in your heart rate and stamina within 2 weeks.

Cons — Things That Could Be Better

1. Rope durability on rough ground

Skipping on concrete can wear the rope down. It lasts much longer on smooth floors.

2. App can glitch occasionally

Once or twice, the Bluetooth didn’t sync instantly. Not a dealbreaker but worth noting.

3. Jump counting can be off if your technique is sloppy

If you trip or do half-skips, the counter might miss or add a few jumps.

These flaws are small, but they keep the product from being perfectly polished.

🧡 Is It Worth Buying? (My Honest Verdict)

YES — 100% worth it, especially if:

  • You want fast calorie-burning workouts

  • You want to slim your waist

  • You like tracking progress

  • You prefer affordable fitness gear

  • You want something small but effective

It is not a replacement for weighted workouts, but it is a perfect daily cardio tool for fat loss, stamina, warm-ups and toning.

I’ll definitely keep using it even after this 30-day experiment.
